Whatever the subject, be it a pet, a person, a wedding portrait, your horse, your cows, your vintage car or motorbike, your aeroplane, your house or garden, your favourite rock star, you name it then I can draw it realistically from your photographs. Note that photographs must be clear and detailed. The more detailed the photo, the more detailed and realistic my drawing will be.

I offer a range of sizes including A4, A3, A2, and A1, with bespoke options also available. Choose between timeless black and white or vibrant full-colour renditions. While I adore drawing dogs, cats, and horses, I can create a realistic portrait of almost anything from your photographs!

The prices quoted are per size shown include a detailed or plain background as required. Note that the cost of a frame is extra. You can select your frame using the link below. I can assist you with this process if required.
Expert framing available
Should you desire, I can arrange for your commission to be expertly framed. I source all of my frames from Picture Frames Express Note that their price is what you pay. I do not add any additional costs for framing.
Their frames are of the highest museum-grade quality, and all mounts used are also acid-free museum grade, providing the perfect presentation and protection for your treasured artwork
You are of course welcome to source your own frame.

A4: Because of the level of detail that I like to achieve, this is the smallest size that I offer. I can only fit one single subject on this size.

Your commission, step by step
1. Share your vision
Commissioning a unique piece of art from John Lazenby Fine Art is a simple and enjoyable process. I will guide you through each step, ensuring your vision is brought to life with precision and care.
Begin by completing the form below and attaching one high-quality photograph. You may submit more images by refreshing the page and sending another message as the form only allows you to upload one image at a time.
Tell me about your subject and any specific preferences you might have in the comments field.
*Note that photos must be clear not blurry or pixilated. The more detailed the photos the better my drawing will be.
2. Receive a quotation
We will review your request and promptly respond with a detailed quotation for your custom artwork, including any applicable options like framing.
3. Deposit & creation
When you enquire I will advise you re expected time frame for completion. I may be working on other commissions however I will try wherever possible to fit you in if you require your artwork urgently. Always allow a 2 week period from start to finish of your drawing depending on size and complexity.
A 50% non refundable deposit is required before work can be scheduled. I will send you a secure payment link via email. Once I have received your deposit I will schedule your work in. I will contact you before I begin and I will provide you with daily progress images.
I will contact you before I start your commission and throughout the creation process, you'll receive daily photographic updates, allowing you to see your commission evolve and request small tweaks.
4. Final approval & delivery
Upon completion, a photograph of the finished artwork will be sent for your final approval and final payment. Once received, your artwork will be carefully packaged and dispatched via courier. Please note, postage is an additional cost advised upon completion.

Every commissioned and original artwork is completed using professional, lightfast Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils and Derwent Professional Graphite pencils. I use only the very highest quality, Strathmore museum grade, acid free 300gsm or 600gsm Bristol Board, ensuring your artwork endures for hundreds of years without fading or losing colour.
